When I went on a search for accommodation in Hong Kong, I come across this hotel in the Causeway Bay district, a rather unique industrial meet modern design. I booked a 2 nights stay, totalling just under NZD$400. Since the protest began, many accommodations have started to offer discount rates in order to attract customers, and I was getting about 40% discount rate from their original price. Let's see what Tuve is all about.

At the entrance of the hotel, you will see a large metal garage door like design, with a dark hallway that leads to the elevator. The reception is located on the 1st floor, upon entering, I was receiving a warm welcome from the staff, she patiently explains the complimentary mini bar that is part of my Hotels.com Silver tier benefit. She then walked me to the elevator, and explains how to identify the room, since the hotel design is quirky and non traditional.

Upon entering my room, the toilet is immediately towards my right, a wardrobe was next to the bathroom door and then leading to the bedroom, a Queen Bed with a small work desk and a foldable mini bar. The mini bar is packed with some very interesting international snacks and drinks. A kettle and bottles of water are also available inside the mini bar. The wardrobe comes with a few hangers, 2 bathrobes, a safe, slippers, mini fridge (where the cold drinks are), and a heater for anyone who is feeling cold (air conditioning and dehumidifier are already on).
The room size is not big, which is something that is rather well known in Hong Kong as their property and land are highly valuable and every inch counts. My overall stay has been pleasant, pretty quiet given there are 3 rooms on each floor right next to each other. The hotel is also within walking distance to Victoria Park and Tin Hau MRT. Buses and trams are a minute walk away, restaurants and cafes can be seen all around and there is always one nearby. Shopping malls are 10 minutes ride away, the MRT can also connect you to many other parts of Hong Kong, including the Kowloon island.
