The Coral Executive Lounge & DMK Airport

Updated: Oct 29, 2021

DMK has 3 lounges that are accessible for Priority Pass customers. I have opted for the Coral Executive Lounge due to the unique design and high end atmosphere. Let's find out what does the Coral Lounge has to offer.

The lounge is located one level below departure, an escalator is located right next to the entrance and the check in desk. After checking in, taking the escalator down will bring you to the lounge. Directly in front is the self service buffet and drinks. You can also have a range of customised cocktail at their cocktail bar. I saw staff giving customers Thai massage as well, which is complimentary for 15 minutes. A la carte menu is also available, however I am not sure if there may be additional charges.

There are a decent amount of food and drinks options, I have only tried a little bit as I was still filled up from the breakfast I had. Seating areas are a mixture of long tables, square tables for 4 and a couch with a coffee table overlooking the tarmac.

The overall design is elegant, expensive and exclusive. There are some unique drink option, one that I found inside their refrigerator called Roselle Juice, apparently it has a whole list of health benefit, I had half a glass of it and it tastes like apple juice, at least it's not awful.

Overall, I had a good experience in the lounge, it could be better if other guests lower their voices. The transportation option to the airport isn't ideal, making it one of the most neglected international airport I have ever visited. The main BKK airport has good infrastructure linking to the city, however it seems like the city just stops funding on half of the city, a stark contrast by comparing the train I take from BKK airport and the one I have to take to DMK. They are building new train stations along the line to the airport, I hope they would be improving the train they use and the stations, especially the ones near the airport since that's what visitors will see on their first few minutes of arrival. The Thai government is also committed to introducing bullet trains, a large leap from non air conditioning old train.

DMK serves Airasia and Nok Air. The airport used to be the main international airport, however right now it seems like it is under maintained and slightly neglected after moving over to BKK.
