Queenstown is one of the tourist hotspots in New Zealand, with its dramatic terrain, hours drive long lake and driving distance to some of the best ski fields in the country, and not to forget one of the world's most scenic spot Milford Sound, a place so beautiful that you cannot even imagine it, people cried looking at one of the most epic world's treasure. With a large tourist presence, Queenstown is also home to some of the most expensive and exclusive hotels in New Zealand. This trip, I will be staying in Mecure, one of the brands from Accor Hotels. I booked it for 5 days 4 night, a total of NZD$846. It is definitely not the cheapest hotel you can find in Queenstown, but not the most expensive either given the hotel rates are higher than average comparing to other cities around New Zealand.
Check In:

Upon arrival at the hotel, the check in area was empty and the staff was ready to check me in. Given that I have booked this hotel through private sale while my Silver status was still valid, they wanted to look at my card (however it was expired so I didn't bring it). Regardless, they informed me that I have been upgraded to the Superior Room (with lake view) instead of the original room category which is Standard Room (with garden view). The surprise didn't end there, I got 2 welcome drink voucher which is part of my Silver status benefit.
Room:

I was given the top floor of the hotel which is on level 4. The room can comfortably fit 3 people, but since I got 2 queen size bed, it can fit 4 adults without any issue. The view is pretty good, even though the surrounding is all residential, we have a decent view overlooking Lake Wakatipu.

The air conditioning unit is situated right by the corner, since there's 2 beds, one of the bed will end up getting a direct blast from the AC. The AC is an inverter which can put out heating, given how cold Queenstown can get, I tried using it one day but didn't seem to work for some reason.

After I went out and came back, the mini bar table was left with a personalised welcome card by the assistant manager and 2 bottles of water. A nice touch for status holder, although the complimentary bottle water is only given once.
Amenities:

The hotel comes with a swimming pool, gym and 2 outdoor spa bath. Unfortunately my time in Queenstown is short and filled up with activities, so I didn't get to use any of those.
Bar/Restaurant:
The bar and restaurant are situated near the reception. They both overlook Lake Wakatipu, when I went to get the welcome drink, the whole bar sitting area was filled up. The bartender was friendly and bubbly, willing to answer my questions about the all day happy hour price that comes with my Classic status (all happy hour prices and free welcome drinks are limited to selected beverages only).
Car Park:
There are about 50 parking spots dedicated to guests, however especially late at night we find them to be filled up. Streets parking right outside the hotel are available, 2 minutes to get into the hotel. High level status holder gets reserved parking right in front of the hotel.
Conclusion:
Would I stay in Mecure again during my next trip, probably not if I have another choice with a similar pricing, as I would want to explore what other hotels are offering instead of sticking to one hotel. There are great hotels located in Queenstown and this is not to say that Mecure is bad, I would still recommend it to anyone visiting, but since I have stayed once I am more keen to explore what other places are like.
